In this lesson, students will learn about Earth's systems and what they can to do reduce, reuse, and recycle to help planet Earth.

Learning objective

Students will be able to discuss how humans can reduce their impact on Earth’s systems.

Introduction

With a partner, students will discuss how humans get paper products, paper, and vegetables. They will be introduced to Earth's different systems: the atmosphere, biosphere, geosphere, and hydrosphere. Focus question: "How can we reduce our impact on Earth's systems?"

Instruction

Students will review what humans need to survive. They will then see what humans obtain from and harm each of Earth's systems (biosphere, atmosphere, hydrosphere, and geosphere). They will discuss what they can do to reduce, reuse, and recycle.

Quiz

Review ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle with 4 multiple-choice questions, 2 true/false questions, and a drag-to-sort question.

Closing

Students will discuss ways they can help planet Earth.
