Students review the letter Dd and drag the Dd's to the "D-ssert Plate." By doing so they reveal Eve the elephant, their guide for the letter Ee. Students are then asked to write the upper and lowercase Dd. You may choose to have students do this on their own sheets of paper or to ask a few students to come to the board to demonstrate writing the letter.
Have students count the number of Ee's in Eve's name. Eve will then ask his assistant, Max, to write the letter Ee in the air. Have students do this along with Max. Have them practice a few times. Students will then practice writing uppercase and lowercase Ee on the board and on their own paper. Two students can complete a puzzle to find Eve's snacks.
Students will then practice and pronounce Ee sounds. Ask students if they can determine which letter belongs at the start of each of the given words. Have the class determine if they need an uppercase or lowercase Ee. How do they decide? Students will then practice identifying Ee sounds in words. Have students help Eve find water by following a path of words with Ee.
