Students will identify and describe each of the physical characteristics of a community that were introduced. Then they will complete an activity to differentiate between what is a physical characteristic and what is not. They will discuss with a partner about how physical characteristics can give clues as to what kind of place you might be in. Students will be given a task to create part of a landforms book with a partner. Each partnership will be assigned a different physical characteristic and they will make a simple description of what it is which includes some examples of where it might be found. Their teacher will compile them into a book.
Review different kinds of physical characteristics with 5 multiple-choice and 5 short-answer questions.
Students will spin a wheel and then match the place. Then they will provide an example of a physical characteristic in that particular place.
