In this lesson, students will learn to sort objects into categories. They will use skills to find common characteristics with items to assign objects to groups as well.

Introduction
Students will sort some objects by color.
Instruction
Students will discuss what "sorting" and "categories" mean. Then they will do a series of activities to work on sorting, including finding what a group of objects have in common, identifying the picture that does not belong in a group, assigning a category to a group of objects, and sorting items into different groups.
