General
In this lesson, students will build on their knowledge of past tense verbs and learn that past tense irregular verbs do not follow the rule of adding "d" or "ed" to verbs. They will complete many activities writing with past tense irregular verbs.

Students will be able to use the past tense of irregular verbs.

Introduction
Students will review past tense verbs. They will be introduced to irregular past tense verbs, such as "drank."

Instruction
Students will be shown sentence used present tense verbs and need to supply the past tense verb. For example, they will be shown, "Today I swim." They'll be expected to fill in, "Yesterday I ........" They will also match present tense to past tense irregular verbs. They will identify past tense irregular verbs used in sentences. They will then complete sentences with the correct past tense irregular verb by dragging from a word bank.

Quiz
Students will answer 10 questions about past tense irregular verbs. They include clicking on the past tense irregular verbs in sentences and multiple-choice questions.

Closing
Students will read sentences with present tense verbs and write matching sentences for each using past tense irregular verbs.
