In this lesson, students will learn some guidelines for reading books.

Learning objective
Students will be able to follow words from left to right, top to bottom, and page by page.
Introduction
Explain that students will learn how to read a page in a book. Discuss why that is important.
Instruction
Explain to students to read the words from left to right and top to bottom on a page, and from one page to the next (left to right). Have students follow along and practice touching the words with their fingers. Students will practice reading with a partner.
Closing
Students will recall what they learned in this lesson and why it is important for them to know. They will continue reading their independent reading book.
